And the replay has been chosen by the BBC to be shown in the UK with coverage on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer.
A home tie with Nottingham Forest or Blackpool lies in wait for the winners, with the pair also needing a replay after a 2-2 draw in the first running of that clash at the City Ground.
Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring when the Hammers met Bristol City at London Stadium on Sunday, rounding goalkeeper Max O’Leary to notch his 14th of the season, but Tommy Conway fired home a second half leveller.
The Irons last visited the Robins’ home in January 2015, when Diafra Sakho’s header sealed a 1-0 FA Cup fourth round win.
West Ham’s allocation of 3,414 tickets for the replay has sold out.
