According to Nuno Espirito Santo, the rebalancing job at West Ham is not complete and ether is more work to do in the last week of the winter window. The Hammers coach confirmed that the recruiting drive needs to gather pace next week as he still needs additions.
Whilst the recent uptick in form boosting the mood and the chances of survival, departures this window of squad players means the Irons are still short on numbers after Rodriguez, Guilherme and Irving were sold along with Earthy, Marshall and Kasey on loans.
There’s news of possible ‘incomings’ next week which would, according to footballfancast.com, provide another young up and coming defensive midfielder for Nuno’s squad:

If true, the 24 year old would complete the evolution of West Ham’s midfield and give Nuno options along with Freddie Potts, Soungoutou Magassa in the defensive midfield role. If Paquetá- as seems more likely every day – is on the way out then there’s going to be a decent budget for two more incoming at least: However with Soucek and Kanté (plus JWP) already in the squad you’d have to question whether just now this should be a priority given the squad’s limited centre-back roles.
At least the news grapevine appears to have gone cold over reports to bring another goal keeper to the club: Five is enough for this season.
It really is a case of we don’t need him.
We’ve got Soucek, Fernandes, Potts, Magassa, Kante and, yes, even JWP still.
We can basically afford a couple of injuries and still have adequate cover. At CB we don’t have that luxury. Hell, it’s arguable that with Mavropanos and Kilman that if either of those take a knock the majority of fans would be glad to not see them on the teamsheet.
We should just take anything over £30m for Paqueta and immediately get a concrete bid in for Charlie Cresswell and maybe bring in another at a knockdown price if possible.
(I’ll be honest, I legitimately forgot we have Igor Julio on the books but when Kilman and Mav are preferred you’ve got to imagine he’s looking as solid as water in training…)
Great result yesterday but it needs to continue to make sure we still need to sort out our Defence do that and we should have no problems getting clear of tje religation zone so lets hope sullivan puts his hand in his pocket and do the right thing for once he knows that if he decides to sell the club which would be a good thing for the club players and fans he will get a much higher price if we matain our premiership.status
