If David Sullivan is serious about replacing Julen Lopetegui this year as West Ham coach then the consensus is that there are two possible calendar opportunities; We are in one right now and there’s no sign of the axe being wielded so we will have to assume that Lopetegui will still be at the helm at the end of the transfer window.
There are big arguments for delaying until the first two games after the Premier League resumption are concluded. Newcastle and Arsenal are – in our current state- unwinnable and it would be something of a poisoned chalice to sack Lopetegui now and then expect a new coach to come in and get something from either of those two games.
Trouble is, time doesn’t work to the Hammers advantage. One of the principal targets named by various sources and a coach we’d love to see at West Ham is former assistant to Slaven Bilic, Edin Terzic. He is well known and liked, has had great success in Germany and is available – at present.
However he has been shortlisted by Roma for their vacant managers role. Gazzetta.it report today that he is in discussions since Roma fired their manager on Sunday. Whilst some sources claim ‘he has turned down Roma’ the truth is that we believe talks are still ongoing and the same report details that the Italian mega club are also considering Graham Potter and Erik ten Hag.
We hope they do the decent thing and appoint Ten Hag, to be honest. Terzic and West Ham have some unfinished business together.
MARTIN , I really wish you would do a modicum of investigation before you commit yourself in writing .
Vincenzo Montella Seems a better fit for Roma, he knows the club and their owners won’t hesitate to pay his release clause.
Terzic could save Steidtens job. They could be on the same wavelength as Germans. If Lopetegui gets the boot maybe Steidten will as well. Unless Steidten is used as the sacrificial lamb and Lopetegui is given the rest of the season to show what he can do free of Steidtens interference.
Interference? Tim being seen laughing & joking with the players suggests he has a much better rapport with our team than the manager.
You obviously haven’t been reading the players and fans reports on Terzic MT, he is another Moyes / Flopetegui type and perhaps worse than both apparently an awful coach at improving players and overly negative in style of play, lets hope Roma get him, sounds like he is made for Italian football.
I’ve heard the same stories about him too. If we are to stop the rot of managers other clubs don’t want, we need to pick a progressive coach like Hoeness.
Hoeness has been said to be in the same mould as Amorin and Alonso.
JLo is likened to Moyes, Allardyce & Benetez.
I can’t see Lopetegui being around after Arsenal, we are likely to have been well beaten twice by then. It’s plainly a disaster of an appointment that is best ended asap…
