Roma make move for Hammers target

Roma have made a move to sign reported Hammers target Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Hammers have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the Arsenal ace in this window, with Maitland-Niles seeing his minutes at the Gunners severely limited.

He has made just two Premier League starts under Mikel Arteta this season but it appears that he could now be on his way to Italy to link up with Jose Mourinho.

The report claims that Roma have made an initial loan bid for the 24-year-old, while they want to have an option to sign him permanently in the summer.

Roma want to do a deal quickly as they are set to face both AC Milan and Juventus this month, meaning that a resolution could come quickly.

It seems that if the Hammers were interested, they now need to focus on other targets as the January window continues. High rater

  1. Not for me.
We don’t need a central midfielder and this so called “ace” has been on loan to WBA this season so he can’t even get into the Arsenal team.
