Mattia Destro’s agent is in the UK ready to finalise the player’s move to West Ham.
Destro, who was loaned to AC Milan last season, has returned to Roma but been told he has no future. The news was greeted with delight at the Boleyn, and officials are now understood to be pulling out all the stops to land the Italian international.
Corriere dello Sport claims West Ham have agreed a loan deal in principle, with a view to a permanent transfer option at the end of the season.
A key part of the jigsaw is likely to be Roma’s ability to secure the services of Manchester City striker, Edin Dzeko.
Roma currently have a delegation in Manchester attempting to sign the Bosnian ace. And should they be successful at luring Dzeko from the Etihad, they will then come to London to discuss Destro with the Hammers. Destro’s agent, meanwhile, is already agreeing personal terms for the highly-rated 24-year-old.
