In the know source Fabrizio Romano broke the news every West Ham fan has been waiting for since the whole summer ‘we have to sell to buy’ debacle news broke. The first West Ham United signing of the summer is on the way as the Irons move fast – finally –  having completed the sale of Mohammed Kudus just on Thursday of last week.

The deal brings Senegalese El Hadji Malick Diouf to London as a Hammer. The left back will join West Ham for €22 million in a deal agreed today, as broken by Romano on his twitter account:

“El Hadji Diouf to West Ham – Here We Go – deal agreed to bring in the left back from Sparta Prague! Transfer fee will be €22m plus add-ons after #WHUFC improved their bid. Player has been authorized to travel for medical”

Finally Graham Potter gets his man and West Ham United are off the mark with their first signing of the summer window. The defender will be heading to London Stadium for his medical with a signing likely to be confirmed in the next 48 hours.

One down, five more to go!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I will believe when it’s definitely done and not before, the West ham propaganda team is in full swing as per usual during silly season. Just read on the west ham site we are in talks with petrovic gk who actually signed for Bournemouth yesterday.. Only the hammers propaganda arm can spout so much @@@@@@@@@@@ on a, regular basis the simple reason is sullivan doesn’t want to spend money full stop, and the @@@@@continues even after the unobtainable have, stated they don’t want west ham or have, already signed for another club.. But at least we are the only club that all those in the know continously spout those sort of fantasies. 😂😂😂😂 We must the number one club for this but at least we are no1 at something

I’m not sure that Westham’s hierarchy can pull a turd out of the toilet , however there are certainly a few turds out there for Sullivan and Co to fish for .

this guy can play left wing.. i think that’s why they went for him.. think of masuaku.. but better..

  • Ian Bishop says:

I just had a look at which clubs had actually signed any players
    Arsenal 2
    Villa 2
    Bournemouth 2
    Fulham 0
    Newcastle 2
    Forest 2
    Everton 2
    WEST HAM 2
There’s a lot of negavity on this site suggesting we are the only club not signing players.
I for one would rather we signed younger quality players than hoards of over priced mercenaries….
    Time to be patient
We need a gk , left back ( but we are scolded to signing Dioubf , definitely a no 10 ( if not 2 ) and a striker ….
    Patience is a virtue ….

Other clubs have not lost as many players.
Time is short even by whu standards.
How many more times are we going to hear this story?
      Tomorrow he won’t be coming.

You are kidding right Ian, by the time we are finished we will have let 10 players go and I am not aware of any other club needing quite the overhaul we need. The club is well behind the 8 ball so far on this one in comparison to other clubs vying for the same type and number of as we are, but let’s see if they are able to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

    • Martin Treasure says:

I would tend to agree! Just have to see where we are come September.

    • Martin B says:

Finally a player which will have sell on value , these are the sort of signings we need.
We all know we are a selling club so let’s do it properly!

About time been very slow this window COYI ⚒

  • John Ayris says:

I’m not blown away by this signing. Broke through last season but not with mind blowing stats, seems like a likely to improve rather than a straight into the team at a high level.

But it is movement at last.

  • Dutch Courage says:

Sorry but can’t find this remotely inspiring. Our priority is 2 strikers and then at least 2 midfielders. Fullback postions should be the least if our worries.

    • Julian Woodhouse says:

We do need a left sided defender but you are right the real difference will be in the 2 areas you mention.

    • Jamie says:

No cresswell, no coufal.. how do we not need fullbacks.
