Romano hints at Hammers long term strategy

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has shared a tweet regarding Mohammed Kudus’ future at West Ham.

While there was no ground-breaking revelation in the message,  the journalist’s links to Tim Steidten make it somewhat intriguing.

Romano hints at Hammers project and Kudus is a major part of the plan.

Romano wrote: ‘West Ham are more than happy with their new signing Kudus as he completed 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 5 games. West Ham feels he will keep improving, and he’s going to be a key part of their project.’

It’s the reference to the project and further hints about Kudus’ Hammers future that most interest me. It’s the third occasion that I’ve noted players looking to the future and the so-called ‘project’ rather than what’s happening now.

The same line was trotted out when Jarrod Bowen signed his new long-term contract a couple of months ago. It’s as if Romano is somehow privy to some long-term project that is clearly exciting a number of the players.

Perhaps it’s wishful thinking on my part, but it seems as if the club are counting down time before a more exciting era can begin. Kudus himself remarked upon signing for the West Ham that Steidten had given him assurances regarding the club’s future and that he would be involved after he had asked whether there was room in the team for himself and Paqueta

Very cryptic and rather exciting.
