West Ham United‘s summer transfer window has garnered widespread praise, with Fabrizio Romano highlighting the club’s impressive recruitment. The Hammers have undergone a significant squad overhaul, acquiring a host of talented players to bolster their chances of challenging for European qualification.
The additions of Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Niclas Fullkrug have significantly strengthened the team, providing manager Julen Lopetegui with a strong foundation to build upon.
Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing “It’s still too early to predict what’s going to happen in the final weeks of the transfer window in my opinion! Many things can happen for all the big clubs… it’s gonna be a long couple of weeks, for sure.
“So, not a good time for predicting who will have had the best window, but credit to West Ham so far.
“They’ve done an excellent job landing players like Wan Bissaka, Todibo, Guido Rodriguez, Fullkrug… these are names for top, top clubs. Congrats to West Ham, really.”
While the jury is still out on how these new signings will perform collectively, the early signs are promising. The club’s ambition to compete at the highest level is evident in their transfer strategy, and fans are understandably excited about the prospect of a successful season.
However, it’s important to note that the true test of West Ham’s summer business will come on the pitch. The club must now translate their transfer activity into positive results to justify the significant investment made.
And yet despite all those quality signings on top of having no European football to worry about for the first time in years, most pundits don’t think we’re going to finish much higher than last year?
