Romano: Lopetegui Must Get Results NOW!

Football ITK Fabrizio Romano has sensationally revealed that the West Ham board is watching results closely. While the transfer guru and ally of Tim Steidten stopped short of suggesting the Hammers’ hierarchy was close to sacking Julen Lopetegui, he indicated that the club needs to see a change in results as soon as possible. However, it is also being reported elsewhere that the Irons boss is under real pressure to deliver immediate results or risk losing his job.

Lopetegui has come under increased pressure following West Ham’s 5-1 defeat to a weakened Liverpool team in last night’s Carabao Cup game at Anfield.

Romano dismissed rumours suggesting the Spaniard has three games remaining to secure a win, but at this point, it’s difficult to know what to believe.

On Monday night, news reports surfaced indicating that Tim Steidten was looking to distance himself from Lopetegui’s appointment. Speculation suggested that the Hammers’ director of football had warned chairman David Sullivan against hiring the Spaniard.

It is, therefore, unsurprising to hear an update from a journalist close to Steidten that clearly puts Lopetegui under more pressure to secure a win away to Brentford this weekend in the Premier League.

“Sensationally revealed”, “needs results now”, Absolute genius, none of us “armchair experts” would have considered that.
What would be far more interesting to discuss at this point is who do you play, and how do you configure, the defense for the next two games? After that, five of the following six games are against Spurs, Man.U, Forest, Newcastle and Arsenal and if he hasn’t got something working before then, he will surely be gone. It is just hard to predict what he might do next. Was any reason given for Wan-Bissaka not getting on the pitch?
