West Ham remains the first-choice transfer destination for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.
This is the latest update from transfer guru and football insider Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that the former Valencia star has his heart set on a move to the Hammers.
According to Romano, the Spanish playmaker must remain patient while the Irons offload some unwanted players. However, Tim Steidten remains determined to complete the deal. Despite the waiting game, which could last a few more days, Soler has rejected opportunities to join both Everton and Real Sociedad.
An agreement between PSG and West Ham is in place, with the player himself having agreed to personal terms. Soler has already spoken with Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui.
Brighton Hove Albion were understood to be rivals for Soler’s signature, however, the Premier League high flyers appear to have turned their attention to former Hammers target Matt O’Riley from Celtic.
