Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters has already agreed to join West Ham.

This development follows earlier reports today indicating that West Ham was working on a swap deal with the Saints, involving Flynn Downes in exchange for the right-back.

Romano wrote on his Twitter page: “Negotiations are underway between West Ham and Southampton for Kyle Walker-Peters and Flynn Downes. Swap deal being discussed and a concrete possibility, as @ExWHUEmployee called it. Kyle Walker-Peters has already said yes to West Ham, but there is still work to be done between the clubs.”

There appears to be some disparity between the two clubs’ valuation of midfielder Downes. West Ham reportedly values the Essex-born Hammers fan at more than £15 million, while Southampton believes his value is closer to £12 million.

Downes was on loan at the south coast club last season and was one of the most consistent performers in the Championship.

    Not at them prices lol

  • Adam says:

I think someone has a screw loose at Southampton , walker peters for Flynn downes not a fair swap unless you are a westham fan

  • I'm not the answer to our right back problems says:

According to another West Ham Site we are using Danny Ings in the swap and not Downes. Apparently Downes might want to stay and prove himself as he said he has “unfinished business” at WHU.

  • Kevlar says:

Ings for walker peters yes! Downes should stay and fight for a place in midfield. I think that he need
S a season in the premier league to prove he can nail down a spot in west hams team.

  • Rich says:

Hope it is Ings,l, personally feel Downes is at least good cover for Alvarez who will no doubt be suspended at some point best season and looks to be missing the start of it with lack of match fitness I presume?

  • Pongo says:

More old tosh on here as usual, it’s already confirmed that larsen has agreed to terms and will join wolves, we have, apparently pulled out of a deal for kilman, missed out on a free transfer for miranda who’s going to bologna, this transfer window were we are going to get all our business done, early has become, as farcical as west ham have in recent dealings in the transfer market we lack ambition, we are clueless at getting transfers over the line, the big needs are a striker and central defenders more important than anything else and where do we stand presently, no further forward at all. Look out for more old has beens and free transfers coming our way as sullivan doesn’t want to spend any money. Last I heard we were looking on line for any players available for free aged 34 and above and that won’t surprise me at all.

Depending on what you here on media Downes has unfinished business with WHU and that’s good news as I think he has alot to offer and Moyes treated him badly from the start of him joining us.
As mentioned he is a good cover for Alverez, works hard and one of the best players for Southampton last yr .
If they regard him as only a 12 mil player then he is better off being with his home club.
He is better than Soucek as a DMF in my opinion.
Southampton need money for FFP they will probably sell CWP anyway if he wants to go.
I don’t think they will take Ings unless we pay him to leave his wages are too high.
Another Moyes transfer balls up that we are paying for now .
