West Ham could be in with a chance of signing midfielder Yunus Musah after Fabrizio Romano reported talks had stalled between Milan and Napoli.
The Hammers have a long-standing interest in the USA international and former Arsenal trainee, having been linked with him for two years.
Whilst it’s fair to say many of the players West Ham are linked with are relative unknowns, Musah is a player I’ve kept my eye on since the club were initially linked with him in 2023.
How much truth there is to breaking reports from Italy that we’re in negotiations with Milan, I’m uncertain. But what I do believe is the 22-year-old is perfect for West Ham and Graham Potter’s midfield.
Let’s be honest, the Hammers midfield was shocking last season and at times was ponderously slow. Musah would provide the type of energy and quality. €25m seems like a reasonable fee for a player with such good ability and one who would immediately improve Graham Potter’s first team.
We’re a long way from a Fabrizio Romano ‘here we go’ moment, but it would seem West Ham have certainly been given a second shot at a long-time transfer target.
