West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Celtic forward Daniel Cummings, with the Scottish club determined to hold onto the talented teenager. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the latest update on his social media account.

The young striker could be set to leave Celtic, as manager Brendan Rodgers hesitates to integrate him into the Glasgow club’s first team. Despite being highly skilled, reports suggest Cummings lacks the pace Rodgers deems necessary to make the jump from the Academy to senior level.

Cummings, a boyhood Celtic fan, remains a hugely promising prospect. However, he has yet to sign a new deal, and The Bhoys may decide to cash in. Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a stunning season, scoring 24 goals in 24 matches for Celtic’s B team.

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, Celtic are pushing to secure an agreement on fresh terms.

According to Romano, both West Ham and Brighton are showing strong interest in the striker:

“West Ham and Brighton are both keen on signing 18-year-old Celtic striker Daniel Cummings, with Celtic pushing for him to stay and sign a new deal.

24 goals in 24 games this season for Cummings, out of contract in summer 2025.”

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

I started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

I give West Ham opinions and interviews on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus. Former video and content creator for West Ham United back in the days of Upton Park. I was lucky enough to feature in the documentary broadcast on that final wonderful game at the Boleyn when Winston Reid broke Manchester United hearts.

I frequently feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

  • Hmm says:

No pace so he’ll be perfect for us. Don’t want him running off faster than the rest of the team are capable of do we. If he’s slow our midfield will be able to keep up with him.

  • Hammeroo says:

So he lacks the pace to play in the Scottish Premier League but he’s fast enough for West Ham in the English Premier League? Doesn’t sound at all convincing.

  • Kip says:

Sorry but surely we can do better than this ..we have kids that we did t use …..we need a forward who can hit the ground running..this is another gamble..unless its just for the future and not now

  • Morty says:

Callum Marshall did just as well in our youth team, look inwards first

  • John simmonds says:

Bobby Moore had no pace. He turned out OK

    • Hammeroo says:

      Bobby Moore wasn’t a striker!

      • Macephtopheles says:

How about the likes of all time top PL scorer Alan Shearer? All time World Cup top scorer Miroslav Klose? Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Dennis Bergkamp? Oliver Giroud? They all had a fair few goals in them.

Hell, former Hammers like John Hartson and Teddy Sheringham weren’t exactly setting the grass ablaze neither yet had an eye for goal.
