Transfer insider and football ITK Fabrizio Romano has confirmed what Claret & Hugh have been reporting for months—West Ham are parting ways with Emerson Palmieri.
The football influencer announced that Hammers boss Graham Potter has told Emerson he can leave the London Stadium. However, in truth, the Italian international was already on his way out before Potter even arrived back in January.
As early as November, Claret & Hugh reported interest from multiple Serie A clubs after then-coach Julen Lopetegui raised concerns over Emerson’s ability to consistently last 90 minutes at Premier League intensity.
Potter’s arrival only cemented those doubts, with Emerson dropped from the starting XI in favour of Ollie Scarles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and even Vladimír Coufal—who was occasionally deployed on the left.
Romano wrote on his X account: “Understand Emerson Palmieri and West Ham are planning to part ways this summer. Several clubs already started moving for Emerson as Graham Potter has already informed the player about approval to let him leave.”
Despite the recent lack of game time, Emerson has been an excellent servant since his £13m move from Chelsea, capped off by a man-of-the-match performance in West Ham’s Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina.
It’s important to note this is a mutual decision—both player and club feel the time is right to move on.
Good riddance,he’s useless. Trots back when he looses the ball
If they do start selling to provide funds they must replace like for like or WH will only have 1 proper LB- Scarles. Still not enough. AND only 1 proper RB – Wan Kinobee. This window is paramount to us. Last summer we wasted so much money- Lots to do to turn it around!
If he leaves let’s just think about what players we need to bring in
GK , right back ,left back ,maybe 2 centre backs ,1 maybe 2 at centre mid and a striker
So 6 or 8 players
If you do buy that many and let’s face it that’s a big if
You have to get them all to gel which is almost impossible
What a mess our club is in !
Westham mustn’t sell him for cheap .
