Football transfer expert and ITK Fabrizio Romano has doubled down on his claim that West Ham are close to signing Brazilian wonderkid Luis Guilherme.
This follows reports that the transfer deal was on the brink of collapse due to The Hammers’ reluctance to pay a bonus fee of £8m on top of the £30m transfer fee demanded by Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Writing on his social media X account, Romano posted: “West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian talent Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras! Exclusive details of the official bid submitted: €30m fixed fee plus 20% sell-on clause. Negotiations at the final stages, here we go expected soon.”
Romano is understood to be in contact with West Ham director of football Tim Steidten and therefore a reasonably reliable source of Irons transfer gossip.
This will be music to the ears of Hammers fans who have been excited by the prospect of West Ham signing the jet-heeled winger. Guilherme is considered to be one of the brightest prospects at Palmeiras, a club anticipating a mass exodus of their best young talent to Europe this summer.
I will only believe it when the deal is completed, if it’s completed that is, still bemused by the Bruno situation and whilst things are not always what we expect them to be if this does happen it will be, some good news but we still need a striker and quality defensive reinforcments 2x Central defenders a left back and right back and at least 1 midfielder.
So is it £30m or euros as you have contradicted yourself?
