Rule out a bid for once admired central defender

|

Any idea that West Ham will attempt to to buy James Tarkowski in the winter window could really not be more wrong.

The devastating injury to Angelo Ogbonna  – ironically – has put paid to that although we understand the Burnley central defender has fallen down the David Moyes pecking order anyway who was once a keen admirer.

Even if he hadn’t, Oggy’s injury would have changed his mind regardless because we are now desperately short of a left sided central defender and the Burnley man is right sided.

As we explained earlier the 33 year old was badly missed as he has become responsible for starting our thrusts down the left – our main attacking – outlet.

It’s important we fond somebody be it from the under 23s or on the market because Zouma most certainly didn’t look at his best against Wolves without Oggy alongside him.

That’s understandable but it’s too early to make too many judgements although games against Rapid Vienna, Manchester City and Chelsea are going to tell us an awful lot more.
