Rule out the title of manager Irons
Claret and Hugh‘s pals over at Claret and Booze have called for a skilled head coach to be installed and rule out the title of manager once David Moyes becomes history at some point or other.
It really does make a lot of sense to get rid of the word manager – big time or otherwise – but commenting on the situation they refuse to play the “who’s next?” name game.
Rule out the title of manager Irons
Instead that they declare @ClaretBooze: “We don’t want a “Big Name” manager to come in next. We want West Ham to recruit a young, up and coming head coach with an attacking philosophy, passion, talent, hunger and desire. Let’s recruit someone on their way up, as opposed to on their way down. We don’t need a manager, we need a skilled coach!
What we @Cand H like about this suggestion is that the guy we call manager should only be responsible for what happens on the pitch with the technical director looking after transfer business as is the case at every other club.
We have seen what has happened at ours since the waters became muddied with Tim Steidten being installed and the positions of the pair clearly in conflict. That has to stop: delete manager – insert head coach in order to eliminate any issues on who does what.
Agree with this idea yes and up and coming coach to oversee the team selection and integrate the players at all levels in the club. Just watched Liverpool win the Caravou cup final with half a team of young players promoted through the ranks. Just thinking it could have been us!!
As a 6 decade suporter i agree that the modern ‘head coach’ seems more appropriate, especially when we have Steidten, who surely is the main man these days, and a new scouting system. Please let this progress so that we can actually be fully ready by the start of next season. I personally feel that this season has gone already and starting a new ‘up’ will be great. Mibatch
