David Moyes’s time at West Ham United was a mixed bag. While he achieved significant success, his tenure was also marked by inconsistency and criticism. His departure from the club still remains a controversial topic among fans.

A large amount of the fan base felt like he was actually given too long as manager, while Moyes clearly feels like he wasn’t given long enough. It has often been suggested that the perfect time for the Scotsman to bow out was the epic Conference League victory in Prague.

He has now been touted as potential replacement for Sean Dyche at his former club Everton. The Toffees are currently struggling and in need of a turnaround. Moyes’s experience and track record could make him a suitable candidate for the role.

Everton’s squad is currently one of the weakest in the Premier League, and  keeping the team in the league will be a significant challenge for any manager. However, I’ve always felt that Moyes was at his best with a limited squad he himself has admitted that he prefers a small intimate group of players.

Sean Dyche has been on a hiding to nothing on Merseyside as the club have been forced to balance the books and even received points deductions. Moyes is good in crisis situations though and it may well be that he is better equipped to get the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin than he ever was at figuring out what to do with Gianluca Scamacca or Sebastien Haller.

Moyesie has moved back to the area and his minions have been hinting about ‘availability’ to the media. It almost seems inevitable that he will move back to his former club where Dyche is losing support rapidly.

I wonder if the Toffee’s fans are being careful what they wish for?

What’s the point going to Everton (or doesn’t anyone else want him)?
Had the hump when he had to relinquish being in charge of transfers.
Everton are struggling for money so little chance of new players.
Maybe able to pickup Zouma for a song!!!

Who gives a @@@@ what dinosaur Dave does ?
Why are you even highlighting anything about him or Everton ???

Moyes going to Everton? Don’t give a monkeys, couldn’t bear the arrogant dinosaur’s brand of football. Reporting on this ex manager is a waste of typeface.

  • ExPatHammer says:

I dunno. Never mention ex-playerd or ex-managers again? Or the rule is only if they are legends?

Like him, or not, he is part of the fabric and history of this club. Just because you didn’t like his tactics (full disclosure, I yelled at the television set for much of his tenure… Another full disclosure… I did a lot yelling Kevin “effn” Nolan through my TV, as well…), does not mean he’s not part of our history. So why not report?

Not the discussion supporters of a big club would be having.
If you’re always talking about someone or something else your focus is on that someone or something else.

Until May this year I used to live in New Zealand. Talk there is often about Australia and mostly not in a good way, but more a smaller younger brother way. Whenever I was in Australia, New Zealand didn’t get a mention. There are endless analogies that make the same point.

If sixth, seventh and ninth in the league, quarter final, semi final and winners of a European title in 4 years is a “mixed bag” then I hope our new manager also has a mixed bag. Have you been supporting West Ham long?

Everton fan here mate. Some interesting points. Totally agree Moyes should have bowed out at the Hammers after conference league win. He’s defo better with a smaller squad too. I would question your analysis of him struggling to get a tune out of the likes of Haller though. It certainly isn’t that he just can’t bring the best out of skillful players. Arteta, for example, thrived as a free, creative force under moyes, as did Pienaar. Arteta was much more constrained under Wenger, for example. However, on Everton’s squad being “one of the weakest in the league”, I really must object there. 8 points deducted last year and finished 14 points clear of trouble. Without deduction, would have finished 11th. Squad has since been improved as well. I’m really not sure where you get that from. Sure, they’ve had an awful start, but certainly not one of the worst squads in the league. I wish you guys a great season though, always like to see the Irons do well
