Sad news from Christmas day

|
Sad news for the West Ham fans has reached us from Christmas Day.
Former West Ham correspondent Dave Evans from the Newham Recorder passed away on Christmas Day evening after spending the day with his family.
The journalist spent many decades at the local paper following the Hammers everywhere  but unfortunately was made redundant earlier this year.
He was a Brentford fan at heart but always had time for Hammers fans and was loved by many.
Friend Steve Marsh posted on social media on Boxing day “I’ve just received the sad news that my great friend and Recorder colleague Dave Evans passed away on Christmas night after spending the day with his family.
Dave had been in poor health over the past months and had sadly been made redundant from the company. However, he remained in great spirits and was always good-humoured when we spoke.
His brother, Alan, contacted me in the past hour to give me the sad news. I covered the Hammers for many years with Dave and formed a good friendship with him. Therefore, I’m devastated at this news. RIP Dave Evans.
Claret and Hugh would like to add their condolences to Dave’s  family and friends at this sad time.
