Sakho heads for “excellence” contract review

Sakho celebratesWest Ham are set to talk new terms with goal machine Diafra Sakho as “a reward for excellence.”

The uncertainty surrounding the brilliant front man’s arrival from Metz allowed the Hammers to agree a highly effective deal with the player.

ClaretandHugh understands that the player accepted terms of around £15,000 a week, a percentage of which was based on first team appearances.

But such has been his utterly outstanding start to the season the club are set to review the terms of his contract.

We were told  that his deal says personal terms will be reviewed after 25 starts but that could well be brought forward.

A well placed insider said: “David Sullivan is keen to reward him. He gets a review after 25 starts in his contract. If he keeps scoring, however, David will bring that forward as a reward for excellence.”

As revealed on this site earlier neither Sakho or strike partner Enner Valencia have any form of escape clauses in their contracts and thus there is no danger of us losing them on the cheap.

Our source revealed: “Sakho’s on a four year deal with a two year option, so he’s our player for six years.
