Hospital X-rays show that Diafra Sakho has no broken bones in his collarbone or shoulder area.
Fears that he may have broken his collarbone or suffered a dislocation have been ruled out and the overview at the moment is that he may have suffered some ligament damage.
The club medics will take a closer look at the striker tomorrow (Mon) but it looks unlikely he will be available for next weekend’s clash at Stoke.
However, should the ligament damage diagnosis prove accurate the club are hopeful he will be fit to return for the match against Aston Villa on November 8.
ClaretandHugh has learned over the last few minutes that the news on the player is encouraging following his tangle with Manchester City keeper Joe Hart in the closing stages of yesterday’s game.
A well placed Boleyn source said: “The X-rays show no breaks or dislocations and the view is there’s likely to be ligament damage.
We’ll have a closer look tomorrow but Stoke looks unlikely for him and Villa looks set to become the target.”
I read on another site that Alex Song had been injured in a collision with Hart. Any body know if there anything in this or did they just get it all wrong?
Think they have got it wrong. As far as I can remember it was Valencia who collided with hart and it was hart who required treatment with Enner being unhurt.
