Sakho transfer request update

|

Diafra-Sakho-315346ClaretandHugh can confirm that Diafra Sakho has indeed asked for a transfer.

The club has confirmed to us that the early reports claiming he wants to leave and has now put in a transfer request are true but we were told : “His request means nothing.”

The report initially broke via Sky Sports sources and as promised ClaretandHugh has been endeavouring to discover whether the story is accurate.

And within the last few minutes our top source at the club has admitted that the Senegal striker – being watched closely by West Brom and Sunderland – has made his position clear via a transfer request.

He told us: “The facts are reported are true but in reality the request means nothing as the player has a long term contract with West Ham United and it is up to us to decide whether he is available or not.”

Sakho has been unhappy for several weeks but until the club finds a new striker is almost certain to be told to get on with it.

We need to be careful that we do not break up a team and do not bring in the right replacements, is it true Sunderland interest pushed him into making a transfer request? we are going to miss Lanzini at the start of the season.

  • oldiron says:

Send him to West Brom and we can have Berahino, not a bad swop me thinks, an Englishman for a foreigner just in case there are restrictions in the future.

I agree with Oldiron, Barahino is a good goal scorer and young and just needs to beloved and get away from Birmingham,
He would be a great foil for AC,
Same as when Bony was offered for Valencia ( if true ) it would have been great business,
Hope young Fletcher signs,he wants to play and is hungry plus a lot of talent

Sorry guys, not on the same wavelength here at all with your comments. Sakho is by far the best striker we have at the club, a person with no knowledge of football could see this. In today’s market he is worth at least 20m. This fellow Bacca is a good player but he is no better than Sakho. My position here is why are West Ham not telling Sakho he is our number 1 striker. I will tell you why – it is the AC influence again. I just cannot believe it that Bilic and his management team are falling for the same trap as BFS. I perfectly understand Sakho’s position here and I believe Bilic needs to use his man management skills to sort this out. Sakho has to stay and I believe I speak for the majority of the fans. Berahino sorry does not cut if for me and I don’t share the opinion that he is in the same class as Sakho. I actually think we have great strikers – I am also a huge fan of Valencia, I would personally sign a young striker like the AC Milan striker and tell Sakho he is starting the season as first choice. Let Carroll have the hump.

I’m sorry but for me Sakho has always been over hyped. He’s a good player but by no means should we settle with him. I think it’s only right to try and get someone better and if he doesn’t like that and wants to be the best at his club then let him go. We shouldn’t restrict our team just for the sake of keeping one player happy. That’s not to say I don’t like Sakho by any means and it would be great to keep him. I don’t think Andy Carroll has anything to do with it. The club has been saying very clearly and loudly that they want a new first choice striker, that’s what’s made Sakho want to leave.

Lessons in being condescending from Johnham1..”a person with no knowledge of football could see this” hehe.Oh wise one I think you have a rather over inflated opinion of your wisdom, especially as what you just said is in the main a crock of..imho

  • norfolkhammer says:

No player is bigger than our club thank you Mr Sakho for your time being a Hammer but if you don’t want to be a part of Slavs revolution then on your bicycle mate we only want players who want to wear the shirt

  • johnham1 says:

Antman, I apologies no offence meant, I have strong opinions but I also respect other people’s opinion, that comment was totally wrong.

  • slaven a laugh says:

Let him go play for allardyce if that’s what he wants. He was never going to be first choice striker. Good runner but seriously overrated as a footballer in my opinion. Far too selfish. Poor attitude considering we plucked him from lower league french football and gave him a crack in the best league in the world
