Sakho/Lazio: The truth

diafra-sakho-west-ham-crystal-palace_3447376West Ham have rubbished all suggestions that Diafra Sakho is a target for Lazio or any other club this transfer window.

The Senegal striker has begun the season looking fit and ready to play his part in the Hammers season and is not for sale.

Reports coming from the respected Gazetta Della Sport claimed that Lazio were ready to offer around £10 million for him but ClaretandHugh can confirm that there has been no offer or enquiry.

This is Sakho’s make or break season and as we reported last night (Thurs) the striker is working his way back to full fitness and in very composed and determined mood.

And we were told be a key insider: “I really don’t know where these stories come from because we know of absolutely no interest.

“It seems odd that at a time when many feel we need an extra striker that we should be linked with selling one and reducing our number of options to two.

“At his best and fittest Sakho is a top striker and is ready to show himself off in a Hammers shirt this season.”

  1. This was just strange…
    1. How can West Ham rubbish suggestion that clubs are targeting Sakho?
    2. If Lazio is preparing to launch a bid. West Ham would still have not received one?

Not saying they will or we would accept a bid like that – but surely West Ham are in no position to be mind-reader of clubs around Europe.

Labeled “the truth” this article really only states that we have not received any offers and that we would not want to sell (sentiment none of us has ever heard before, obviously). Not trying to be an ass here, just don’t get the point of this article among other good reflections you guys tend to make.

  2. I think if Sahko performs give him a pay rise and contract to match. A hug from Bilic wouldn’t go astray either.
