alex-song-west-ham (1)SAM ALLARDYCE remembers Jose Mourinho punching the air during the ‘Soccer Aid’ match and learned afterwards his joy was over signing Cesc Fabregas.

But the Irons manager reckons Jose’s celebrations it was nothing compared to his emotions when learning he had landed pal Alex Song.

He said: “I remember Jose punching the air at Soccer Aid last summer. I wondered what it was for and later he told me he’d just got Fabregas. I saw how happy Jose was.

“But I had greater delight when we signed Alex.”

fABAllardyce’s elation grew on Wednesday when Song was left out of the Cameroon squad for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations He added: “Him not being in the Cameroon squad is delight for me but not as big as when we signed him.”

WEST HAM’s likely team for today’s clash at the Bridge is:

Adrian, Jenkinson, Reid, Collins, Cresswell, Song, Kouyate, Noble, Downing, Carroll, Sakho.
