Sam sweats over Collins

Sam Allardyce is sweating over the fitness of defender James Collins for Monday night’s Premier League clash at Sunderland.

Collins went off in the match against Hull  in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Hull with a calf injury and both Winston Reid and Roger Johnson will be on standby to replace the Wales international at  the Stadium of Light.

Matt Jarvis (thigh) is unlikely to be fit in time to return, with Joey O’Brien (shoulder) and Marco Borriello (calf) also sidelined.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Jaaskelainen, Demel, Tomkins, Johnson, McCartney, Collins, Johnson, Reid, Armero, Noble, Nocerino, Diame, Taylor, Nolan, J Cole, Downing, Jarvis, Vaz Te, C Cole, Carroll.
