Same old story emerges …and it’s still not true

It’s Christmas Eve, there’s little to report and most of us have many other things on our mind than regurgitating a new line the Declan Rice/Chelsea saga!

Sky Sports, however, appears to be making a desperate attempt to pluck names out of the Blues hat to stand up a story which has been written around 100 times or more.

The latest effort o make it sound anything near real is to claim that Lampard is ready to sell seven players in a cash-raising exercise to buy him and Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland.

The seven are s Ross Barkley, 27, Spaniard Marcos Alonso, 29, Germany’s Antonio Rudiger, 27, Denmark’s Andreas Christensen, 24, Italian Jorginho, 29, England’s Danny Drinkwater, 30, and Nigeria’s Victor Moses, 30. (Sky Sports via Sun)

We don’t believe it over here and can confidently report that as yet there has been absolutely no contact between the two clubs and that, were there to be, the Irons won’t sell in January.

We have been here many times – the situation remains as has been reported. Nothing doing!
