martin-samuelsen-west-hamMartin Samuelson has been recalled to West Ham from Peterborough despite two league games remaining for the league one side.  Samuelson turned nineteen last week and is set to start in the Under 21 Premier League cup on the Boleyn ground on Monday evening.

Terms of the season-long loan brokered by director of football Barry Fry allowed him to be recalled for development matches but it is not known why he will not return for Posh’s two final matches on the 30th April and 8th May.

West Ham have revealed via their official Twitter account on Friday that the highly rated young midfielder is back training at Chadwell  “Samuelson has returned to West Ham after his loan spell with Peterbrough #WelcomeBack

Martin tweeted our his thanks to Posh and their fans by saying “Thank you to everyone who made my time at @theposhofficial so special! I will never forget #UpThePosh”

Peterborough are 14th in the League One table on 57 points with the play off places out of reach this season.

Makes sense to bring him back.We are nearing end of season, Slav can have a look at him in training before the break with a view to going back out on loan or to start making first team appearances. I hope he is given a first team chance , watched him in EL start of season and like what I saw.

I want to see this kid training with and learning from the first team because I think he has the potential to be great. You can see he wants to entertain with his skills and tricks. He needs to learn when and where to do it and how to do it effectively. He can learn that from the likes of payet and Lanzini. Hes not going to learn it in the lower leagues. All he’s going to learn there is how to ride a dodgy tackle.

Probably back out on loan to a Champo team at some point. Wouldn’t mind seeing him involved in the EL if we make it.

Rad you come off the meds,
It’s not having a game this week your getting withdraw symptoms, you need excitement in your life contact Matte get him to send some photos over of his girls and have a pint mate,
I want to see him just a couple of times before I make my mind up,he has the skill it’s just weather he can bring it to the big stage,

    • Radai the Lama says:

You could be right bubs, more beer needed & some new figa, lol.I agree he should be given a chance I just don’t think he is going to cut it in the PL.Only one of my wild opinions mate 🙂

  • Radai the Lama says:

Forget about Samuelsen,he ain’t ever going to be a first team regular. He will be gone by the end of next season.

  • bubs says:

Why not bring him on instead of Moses or Emineke?
It’s not like they are setting any games on fire,
I know let’s respect the point waste £15 million on someone else next season and then loose a great player because we won’t give him his chance,
He has paid his dues like Burke and Cullen and done well,
We have given Antonio a chance at last and look how well that worked out,
Young Viking is a talent yes young and small in stance ( just like Lanzini ) but when are you ready ?
Rashford has turned Manures season round,
Rooney was 17 and had great talent,
This boy has the same talent that we buzzed about when Joe Cole first played for us
    Give him some playing time
15 – 20 min against WBA,Swansea and Stoke will give us a clue

I would agree with that as long as we are winning 2 or 3 nil at the time.

      • sleepswithdafishes says:

perhaps if he plays a blinder tomorrow night he might get picked for the bench.

  • markro says:

Samuelsen on the bench makes sense. If either Lanzini or Payet have to come off, he’s a ready made replacement on the skill front.

Need to judge him in a higher class game. That can only be a PL run out. This the 1st time in many years in the top flight that we still have something to play for going into the last 4 games. Games like Watford last week in the last 10 mins we could have sent on a couple of youngsters. We need to keep getting wins to stay with the bigger boys, catch 22 do we stay with a team who at times seem to struggle to kill off games or give the kids an opportunity.
this season has been fantastic for the club. Apart from bad ref decisions we have drawn too many games

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

Again you’ve answered it yourself: with four games we must win, to be sure of Europa league next season, we can’t take any risks with the first team. Especially with a full squad to choose from.

      • sleepswithdafishes says:

If we are in Europe next season, we can bring kids in to some of the cup games.

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

Peterborough say they let him go because they only want players in their last games, who will be there next season. That is because they are out of promotion places.

  • bubs says:

Put him on the bench for either Moses or Emineke and give him some playing time,
He is good enough and can’t do any worse then either of them,
We need to see if he is good enough for next year and I believe he is Manure have proved this year age is not a problem
He took WBA to pieces in the cup and they would worry about him,all we need is them to knock him about around the box and now the refs have worked out that they are allowed to give us Pens and Payet needs some practice just out side the box,
