Scamacca: It’s going well!

|

Gianluca Scamacca insists that his acclimatisation at West Ham is going well.

The striker has struggled for goals in the Premier League thus far, making five appearances and failing to score thus far.

However, he has hit the net in the Europa Conference League, scoring three times in four games.

Italy boss Roberto Mancini warned earlier this week that the adaptation for Scamacca could take around five months but he insists that he is enjoying life in east London following his move from Sassuolo.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb after linking up with the Italy squad for games against England and Hungary, Scamacca said: “The acclimatisation is going well, the group is a quiet group, helpful, it was very easy.

“I’m getting by, now I’m also going to start studying to perfect it (his English) but I’m making myself understood.”

The striker has history of being prolific and netted 16 goals in 36 games for Sassuolo last season, so there will be a hope at the Hammers that he can find his shooting boots quickly.

West Ham are back in action on October 1st against Wolves at the London Stadium, following the international break.
