Scamacca: It’s good news

|

By Dave Langton

Gianluca Scamacca is on the mend.

The Hammers striker has been left out of the last two matchday squads after going down with a throat infection.

He has also been suffering with a high temperature and his illness has precluded him from selection against Chelsea and Spurs in back-to-back London derbies.

He last played for the club in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa and a top source has now told C&H that the Italian is recovering and is likely to be available for selection soon.

It remains to be seen if David Moyes will throw him back in against FCSB in the first game of the Europa Conference League group stages, but he is likely to be back in the squad; he could also play against Newcastle on Sunday.

Scamacca had looked like he was playing his way into form, scoring in both legs of the Conference League play-off against Viborg.
