Scamacca sends surgery update

Gianluca Scamacca has undergone successful surgery on his knee and posted an I’m getting well soon message on social media,

Manager David Moyes revealed yesterday the Italy striker would need an operation and it took the front man no time at all to let the fans know that he was in good shape.

Scamacca has had a disappointing first season at the club with injury and lack of form before finally injury the knee on international duty to the point where surgery would be required.

And that has left Moyes needing to make a decision on whether Michail Antonio or Danny Ings lines up from the start against Arsenal with our bet being it is likely to be the winter signing.

Mikey’s style may not be best suited to the likely defensive formation Moyes is probably going to play against the league leaders.

Meanwhile commenting on his Instagram Scamacca said:  “Surgery done. No doubt I’ll come back stronger than before!”
