Scamacca starts

West Ham boss David Moyes is persisting with Gianluca Scamacca up front against Leeds.

The Italy international has struggled for goals this season but he will get another chance to prove his worth against Jesse Marsch’s side.

Mikey Antonio is on the bench, with Scamacca set to be ably supported by Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta. Said Benrahma is on the bench alongside Mikey.

Elsewhere in the team, it is much the same as Moyes bids to drag the Hammers out of relegation trouble.

Lukasz Fabianski plays in goal; Vlad Coufal plays at right-back, with Thilo Kehrer seemingly playing at left-back.

Nayef Aguerd returns to the team at centre-back alongside Craig Dawson.

In midfield, Declan Rice is joined by Tomas Soucek, with Pablo Fornals also in midfield.

West Ham XI: Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Aguerd, Kehrer; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Fornals; Scamacca. Subs: Areola, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Johnson, Emerson, Downes, Benrahma, Lanzini, Antonio.

  1. Moyes is without doubt an idiot that needs sacking. How could he select Kehrer and Soucek who offer nothing, it’s just is simply horrendous. We will start the game with 9 players.. How can he continue to start Bowen. How can he continue to play the same system. Only this clown knows. This could be any score tonight. We have no hope tonight and if Moyes even mentions after the game tomight that the performance had something to do with the sad passing of Savid Gokd he should be sacked for that alone, usingvthe tragic passing of our chairman to deflect the attention from himself

  2. We have two left backs plus Ben Johnson on the bench, yet we start Kehrer in that position. That decision is completely beyond me, even if I really try I don’t get it.
