Niclas Fullkrug has demonstrated his abilities to West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui by scoring the first goal in Germany’s match against Hungary this evening.
The former Dortmund striker started in the Nations League fixture and was substituted after 60 minutes. Fullkrug, who has yet to make his Premier League debut for West Ham, tapped in from close range after Raum headed a cross toward Jamal Musiala, who set up the goal for the big number nine.
This performance will increase pressure on Lopetegui to consider starting the £27m striker ahead of Michail Antonio when the Premier League resumes with West Ham’s match against Fulham on September 14th.
Adding to the selection dilemma, Jarrod Bowen also played as a striker for England, coming on for Harry Kane in the 2-0 victory against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.
It is clear that J-Lo has an interesting decision to make, particularly with four games packed into the end of September. Unfortunately for Danny Ings, it looks like he’ll not see too much action despite his hat-trick for the Hammers in the training game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
