Season ticket threat is no threat at all

Season ticket threat is no threat at all

We all get fed up and I’m as bad as the next man when things aren’t going as I want them to at my beloved club! West Ham is an absolutely central part of our lives but often we feel utterly powerless in changing things . Indeed, the only things we have any power over are our season tickets and it becomes our ultimate threat when no one appears to be listening to anything we have to say.

What we don’t need , however, is to be told how to behave, or that we are fair weather supporters when we have been here for anything up to 60 years and more.

We just get fed up! IT’S ALLOWED!

Season ticket threat is no threat at all

Claret and Hugh contributor Sean recently ran a poll which had over 100,000 views asking how many people would renew their season tickets should David Moyes get a new deal.

Just 47 per cent said they would be doing so which is all well and good but we know that social media is one thing while reality is quite another.

There are clearly some who maybe won’t but it’s likely to involve more reasons than Moyes. Many  have to travel long distances at great expense with  only available difficult travel arrangements available for matches at often inconvenient times.

One’s age is also an issue but the reality is that with thousands waiting to snap up a season ticket,. refusing to renew is not a truly serious option .

Supporters remain supporters and will be there long after any manager  and as Sean points out: ”Football was often worse under Big Sam at times and yet still season ticket holders renewed.

In reality, West Ham season ticket holders renew between 88% and 95% The average in the PL is 90% Talk is cheap on social media and when it comes down to it I expect 90% plus to renew this summer.”

I will renew it; pick the odd game of choice that is slowly getting harder due to the matches being changed to silly o’clock or midweek that I have problems getting home from.

  • Hammer_Rite says:

“refusing to renew is not a truly serious option” but hugh you said earlier that if Moyes remained as manager you wouldn’t be renewing?

  • Ironman1963 says:

A totally valid point. So as season ticket holders, what does that mean we are left with to do when we disagree fundamentally with Moyes’s tactics, youth policy and fundamental football instincts?
