Serie A man rejected Irons

Reported Hammers target Jakub Kiwior is said to have rejected the club in the summer.

Reports in the most recent transfer window suggested that the Hammers had identified the Poland international as a potential target, as boss David Moyes looked to strengthen his backline.

He eventually signed both Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer, although the latter only arrived after Aguerd was injured in pre-season.

Kiwior is on the books at Spezia and it’s reported the Hammers did make a bid to sign him, but that he wasn’t convinced over the idea of moving to London, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.

There remains interest from the Hammers in signing Kiwior, according to the report, but they will now have to fight off competition from AC Milan if they do table a bid in January.

Kiwior is said to have turned the Hammers down in the summer but it isn’t clear if he would do the same again if another bid was launched.
