Sevilla eve of departure update on Rice/Bowen

CandH Exclusive By Hughie Southon

Jarrod Bowen  is virtually certain not to be travelling to Sevilla for Thursday night’s Europa Cup clash in Sevilla.

The eve of departure news coming out of the London Stadium is that the No 20 has all but decided he will stay in London rather than travel to Spain.

He has  no chance of playing in the last 16 game against the second placed La Liga team and six time winners of the competition.

He is still unable to put any weight on his bruised heel and made it clear to backroom staff that he doesn’t believe he will make the flight to Europe.

The situation surrounding Declan Rice is similar as he is still not fully recovered from his mystery bug and will see how he is in the morning before making a decision on whether to board the ‘plane for Spain.

It’s all likely to leave David Moyes with the tricky decision of whether to launch Said Benrahma or  Nikola Vlasic into Bowen’s position.

Not a great choice on current form!
