Sevilla injury crisis before Hammers clash

Sevilla have been dealing with an injury crisis ahead of this week’s clash with West Ham in the Europa League.

The Spanish club have immense pedigree in the competition and have actually lifted the trophy a record six times.

They have been in brilliant form in La Liga this season and are currently second in the table, having lost just twice all season.

But the Hammers have been boosted in their preparation by the news that there are a number of injury worries that boss Julen Lopetegui is having to deal with.

Per Marca, Diego Carlos, Fernando, Papu Gomez and Montiel are all currently out, along with Javi Diaz, Luismi, Carmona, Juanlu, Nacho Quintana, Kike Salas and Ivan Romero.

That’s a total of 11 players out ahead of the first leg and all of those players are set to miss this weekend’s game against Alaves.

Jules Kounde and Lucas Ocampos have returned but there is more bad news than good here for the Spanish club.
