Shadow over Adrian

|

AdrianThere’s just one small shadow over the Hammers at the moment – Adrian!

With everything going brilliantly this afternoon the lad allowed Burnley back into the game on the hour after we had taken a two goal lead.

Despite appealing for a free kick he was clearly responsible for failing to collect a routine cross and allowed George Boyd to give his team some hope.

We all love the stopper. He has a brilliant rapport with the fans but he hasn’t been covering himself in glory this season with the Mario Balotelli ‘ruck’  and high leg  which could have seen him get a second yellow.

Phil Parkes told us in a recent interview that it would be wrong to drop him and that he really had to learn from his mistakes as he is a late starter in first team terms given his long wait for the job at Real Betis before then being plunged into the Premiership.

Jussi Jaakalainen maybe watching and wondering at the moment! This isn’t a crisis because the rest of the team are playing so well but it’s a situation that we are sure the manager is keeping a very keen eye on.

I just find it unbelievable we have such a great win yesterday, I am still on cloud nine this morning and a certain website’s facebook page started the same thread and now here as well, Adrian is so committed to the club, the players seem more together than I have ever seen them and it seems like a lynch mob!

Short memories from some, I remember even at the top of his game Jaaskelainen making some terrible blunders, but he came through and was first choice for a long time. Enjoy yesterday or get a life! lol

He made some great saves too but no mention of that. I thought adrian was fouled personally and we should have had a free kick but referee didnt spot it. No mention of the fact Carlton Cole standing on the goal line could have blocked the shot if he had tried. A big lump like carlton and he turns away from the ball! Reminded me of the free kick we scored against Spurs when adebayor and his mate in the wall parted like the Red Sea to let the ball through and into the net.

Absolutely agree. The club should go all out to get Marshall from Cardiff in Jan. Adrian, with his preference to punching, has become a liability.

ADRIAN WAS BRILLIANT LAST SEASON BUT i HAVE TO SAY HE HAS LOOKED SHAKY, MAYBE HE IS TAKING HIS POSITION FOR GRANTED OR BEING 1ST CHOICE KEEPER IS MAKING HIM NERVOUS! LETS HOPE HE FINDS HIS OLD FORM. GREAT RESULT TODAY AND GOOD TO SEE SAM CHANGE OUR APPROACH (MORE ATTACKING WITH OUR FULL BACKS) IN THE SECOND HALD COYI
