BBC pundit Alan Shearer praised West Ham’s performance saying they were much the better team and deserved the win yesterday but called his own former team toothless in their display at home.

Shearer wrote on his personal Twitter account “I’m pleased I’m not on BBC Match of the Day tonight having to analyse that toothless performance from Newcastle. West Ham much the better team and deserved to win”

In September Shearer previously called the Hammers embarrassing and pathetic by telling match of the day viewers “You would think, coming into this game on the back of three defeats, at home, in front of your fans, you’d think a bit of fight, roll your sleeves up, show the fans you mean business, Whatever you want to say, whether it was embarrassing, hopeless, pathetic”
