It seems the mega- million signings may be over for the time being as West Ham appear to have undergone something of a refocus for the next transfer window. Rather than Tim jetting off to South America to bring back multi mega million signings, the emphasis would seem to be on markets and players available closer to home.

The Hammers’ transfer shift is now to focus on the domestic leagues, as reported by ex-WHU employee, looking to unearth talent in the Championship and nurture players through to success: Exactly the strategy used to find club captain and England international Jarrod Bowen who was brought from Hull City to the London Stadium – and the rest is history.

Quoted on thewesthamway.com, Ex WHU employee believes West Ham’s recruitment team will :”Give a firm focus on the top performing Championship players”: From the success in bringing Crysencio Summerville to London Stadium as well as Hammers’ captain Bowen, this is a clear shift of emphasis probably based on financial necessity as much as wisdom.

Apparently the club are already scouting the Championship for suitable players who match the right age and fitness profile.

Clearly some of the ‘landmark’ signings from overseas, Carlos Soler, Jean Clair Todibo and Guido Rodriguez have struggled with the physicality of English football so the change in focus does make sense.

This shift does call into question the frequent reports coming in of interest in Brazilian strikers or other costly international purchases.  However, if Tim can go and unearth the next Jamie Vardy then he will certainly endear himself to Hammers’ fans once again.

It’s still poor tactics, poor selections, poor substitutions, etc that is causing most of the problems. So it’s still Lopetegui being the problem and that’s affecting many of the players.
While we have deficiencies in midfield, a lack of striker options, and a goalkeeper problem too we were put into that situation by having a small and old squad. Yes, a budget in the summer but not big enough to fix everything.

      Spot on Andy!

Moyes laid the foundations for the lack of energetic players and disjointed squad.

JLo got his way with Kilman and I’m convinced it was the 🤡 who wanted Soler & Rodriguez due to his so called knowledge of gems from La Liga.

I hope they stick with this, even if it means getting rid of that fraud Steidten and letting Noble bring in the players. All our best signings this last window – Kilman, Wan-Bassaka, and Summerville all came from English football. We’re not going to be able to attract top foreign talent without the prospect of European football on the docket anyways – it’s the only way we could sign the likes of Kudus.

    • Matt says:

Kudus is our best player signed from Europe by Tim!

    • Matt says:

It was Tim who convinced Summerville to sign for us too. Summerville running to Kudus when he scored and not the manager showed the players don’t like JLo.

Kilman was linked to us before JLo and Sully backed his choice which is the only positive so far for the 🤡

Bissaka was a Will Salthouse signing, one of a limited number to succeed from this mate of Sully’s.

The 🤡 is the biggest fraud at West Ham!

  • Matt says:

We will be in the Championship next season if we keep JLo!

  • Alan says:

Tim has no clue about the lower leagues of English football. Cant see him taking the jet to Hull or Stoke.

The only players we’ll sign from that league will be the ones who have Sullivan’s mate, Bill ****house, as their agent.

  • John Ayris says:

The transfer I want to see is the manager if that’s what he can be called…
