A Daily Mirror report that claims David Moyes retains an interest in Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi is somewhat dated
The tabloid says ‘West Ham boss David Moyes also has a long-standing interest in midfielder Ross Barkley. The Scot confirmed Mirror Sport’s story in January that he is keen on the England midfielder he managed at Everton before Barkley’s move to London.’
It continues to say ‘The Hammers are also have a long-standing interest in striker Michy Batshuayi but the Belgian also has admirers at Newcastle and Crystal Palace.’
However, it is believed those ships have well and truly sailed with regards to Moyes interest in Barkley and Batshuayi both 26 years of age and this is nothing more than a recycled piece of news by Mirror.
Moyes is thought to have have in mind many potential targets aged twenty-five or under from lower and foreign divisions as he looks to recreate an RB Leipzig model taking gambles on raw young hungry players who are yet unproven at the Premier League level. West Ham will not move in the transfer market until they are sure which division they will play in next season.
