All change at London Stadium. Graham Potter’s preferred style probably won’t be great news for Niclas Fullkrug. The German normally flourishes as one of a pair and doesn’t do well whilst isolated, pretty similar to Hammers’ other fit striker Danny Ings.

So, with news of a second club now ‘monitoring’ Fullkrug  for a purchase in the January window, after previous reports of Juventus considering bidding for the Hammer on a loan deal,  things could get interesting in the next few weeks. Suddenly there is the possibility of a shock deal to sell West Ham’s current first choice striker.

From Germany comes a report entitled:” Eintracht Frankfurt monitoring Niclas Füllkrug for a potential transfer”from ‘getfootballnewsgermany.com’.

The German media outlet created the story from Sky Germany’s ‘In the know’ Florian Plettenberg on X, reporting that the Frankfurt side are looking for an alternative as Manchester City are about to bid for their first choice striker Omar Marmoush:

The initial reaction is to rubbish the possibility of anyone at London Stadium sanctioning the sale of West Ham’s only fit striker.

But think a little more. Fullkrug already allegedly wants to leave having ‘not settled’. (Unless this was another Lopetegui smoke screen for a falling-out).

All will depend on the price of any offer and West Ham’s ability to recruit a player in January more suited to Potters’ lone striker preference – more in the Michail Antonio mould – like – Evan Ferguson. With Bowen likely to return in February, a loan signing would make perfect sense in the short term and actually boost the transfer kitty for a second striker addition if West Ham recoup most of the Fullkrug spend.

Never say never.

If a decent bid comes in, financially it would make massive sense to move the 31 year old on, West Ham overpaid hugely last summer. Finding a replacement in the next four weeks might be challenging to say the least.

That’s all you needed to say Martin, got it in one. He aint going anywhere.

I don’t believe Fullers going anywhere. We’ve waited a long time for him to get over his injury and now he’s finally playing and scoring. I think he’ll flourish under Potter.

Hes not once said publicly he wants to leave that all came about lost in translation over in Germany while he was injured hes now fit and scoring goals if potter made a centre forward out of journeyman Glenn Murray fulkrug should be a walk in the park

  • Matt says:

Brighton wanted to wait until the end of the January window to assess Wellbeck’s return from injury before deciding on the potential loan of Ferguson.

Since then Pedro has picked up an ankle injury. It’s highly unlikely they will sanction a loan.

Fullkrug has scored more this season from less time on the pitch than Ferguson. Fullkrug has spent less time out injured over the last few seasons compared to Ferguson.

Glenn Murray didn’t have pace but was top scorer for Brighton under Potter. Fullkrug is a better player than Murray so I expect he will get the best out of him.

there is no proof he wants to leave this is the usual clickbait

  • Nelly says:

Beggars belief that Sullivan and Brady signed that deal off in the first place, considering we’ve been crying out for a younger striker for years, and probably could’ve got a decent one for that money

If Fulkrug is not happy as reported, he’s not going to give his best , so needs to be moved on a.s.a.p

Perhaps it would be prudent to see what Beatrix can do with the players we have, now that the grannies gone and the possibility of a proper driver at the wheel of the fararri has maybe arrived, everybody seems to be blaming the players for certain instances when quite clearly there was a breakdown in morale , has anybody thought that now the rotten apples has been binned that maybe we already have a brilliant squad on our hands
