Short odds on players joining Hammers

Marko_Arnautović_playing_for_Austria_vs_Wales_01The bookies have made Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic a big favourite to sign for the Irons this summer.

Bookmakers’ odds on novelty bets can sometimes be very wayward indeed and they are probably responding to widespread press speculation the Austrian is on his way to the London Stadium..

Arnautovic only signed a new four-year deal last summer with the Potters but that appears to mean very little in the betting shop world along  with the fact that the Hammers are concentrated on striking options at the moment apparently almost exclusively.

Arnautovic is a 5/2 favourite to join us according to SkyBet but then bear in mind that they still have Joe Hart at 6/5 (not gonna happen) although they are now quoting Andre Gray at 7/4 – a bet CandH recommended when they had him chalked up at 5/2.

Jack Wilshere remains a crazy 4/6 to wear the claret and blue with Javier Hernandez coming in to the reckoning at a far too short 5/4.

  1. Arnautovic was very much hit or miss ar Stoke, I remember him scoring a couple of crackers but he was very much in and out of the team. He is a hard worker and talented, and could easily become a cult figure!

  2. No thanks, but if Swansea will part with Gylfi for £40m, we should make a bid.

    • That would mean we have no funds over for a striker

      • He can play false 9. I love Gylfi he is a Norse God covered more ground than any other player. And Everton look must likely if he leaves.
We have £80m so we could get Gylfi and Chicharito and still have £27m left that is enough for a CB Tom Lees £5m GK Ospina £3.2m and still have £19m left for another Sttiker like Babacar who is brilliant

    • Agreed Marko. We should have hone for him.over Ayew. Henis the hardest working player and very versatile.

  3. Like Michael said can be very good but consistency is the problem …personally I would like him with us ..hope it happens

  4. Hate to mention the ‘I’ word, but isn’t this guy always injured or am I confusing him with Shaqquiri? I thought I remembered several games against them in the last few years when he was unfit to play against us…

Won’t happen so I won’t worry too much!

    • I think whoever we sign hammer 64 will get injured we seem to be so unlucky with injuries hopefully this sreson will be different

  5. Love your positivity Hammerkip! Probably every club’s supporters thinks they have the same problem. The nature of the modern game seems to lead to more injuries. Mind you, there is a website called physioroom.com that keeps a ‘league table’ of injuries & all last season we were near the ‘top’ of that. According to the law of averages we ought to have a better season on that front this year.

  6. He is 6’4″ he does get injured and Shaqiri does. He is presence but streaky. Depends on how much he would cost really.
I’d go for Helder Costa at Wolves we were keen before his loan became permanent from Porto. Left Foote’s good on both wings

  7. He is the right kind of player for us especially as he plays left midfield but Stoke are unlikely to sell him so won’t be holding my breath.
