Should we stick or twist on Chicharito?

Hammers striker Javier Hernandez showed a glimpse of why West Ham forked out a £16m transfer fee and made him the Iron’s top earner on a reported £140,000 per week as he bagged a brace of goals away at Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

Last week over seven hundred Claret and Hugh readers said he could go in January in a poll of over 4,500 votes allotting him  15% only behind Reece Oxford and Arthur Maskuku.

Today we ask whether one game has changed supporters hearts and minds when it comes to the Mexican striker.

The 30-year-old has made ten Premier League appearances this season scoring four goals. He also made two appearances in Cup games.

Last season he made 39 appearances in all competitions bagging 9 goals in total for the Hammers and in his final season in Germany, he scored 13 goals from 36 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.

This evening we ask whether we should stick on twist on Chicharito this winter?

  1. Stick with him……it’s a squad game!

  2. He will score goals all day long when he has a front partner doing the dirty work.

Arnie / Chico or Carroll/Chico. He needs someone to lead the line and he will score on a regular basis.

  3. If you’d asked last week most would have said get rid. This week most would keep him. Amazing the difference one goal scoring game can make for a striker. Also shows the fine lines involved in that he had four chances. missed two sitters but scored two.

  4. It’s a pretty simple equation with ‘Chica’.He has to play with support and off someone,Today was the first time we set up to actually suit his style and look what happens
.Every time we have started him previously he’s been up top alone that’s not him so why do it?Time and time again in this game he ran off the flicks and passes keep doing that for him and he’ll score goals for you. Some players just need a particular type of service and this game is it….simple equation….set up for him he’ll score…put one up by himself he won’t.
    It really is that simple!
