Signed Sealed .. and Delivered

West Ham fans can expel a huge sigh of relief, having been kept in a state of high alert ever since the prospect of signing the Championship’s player of the season arose last week. In a move which  brings plaudits for The Irons from across both supporters and news commentators, in-the-know journalist  ‘Ex West Ham employee’ has broken the news that Crysencio Summerville has just signed a five year contract with West Ham United..

Unveiling will no doubt take place shortly on the official West Ham United Club Web site.

Knowing the club as we do, and well knowing that these transfer deals aren’t ‘done’ until the player is actually spotted in the media shoot making the ‘crossed Hammers’ with his arms, supporters can now enjoy the capture of one of footballs’ brightest up and coming stars.

Just 22, a dynamic right footed left sided player, Rotterdam- born Summerville will complete  West Ham’s left side and fill the position which The Hammers have found most difficult in recent years.  Despite drafting in Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, Maxwell Cornet and Lucas Paquetá , the Irons had not found way of replicating the the free flowing fast attacking play which has been on show at times on the opposite flank with Bowen and Kudus operating in exciting style.

Now the mouth watering prospect of Summerville, Kudus and Bowen operating as a creative, mobile, fast and dangerous attacking trio is a reality. Add Paqueta to the mix pulling the strings in midfield and whichever striker is deployed, West Ham United have a truly dynamic, attacking and very exciting group of talent to call upon.

With the signings expected to come thick and fast, we’re looking forward to the coming weeks and the new season beginning the Lopetegui era in earnest.

Feeling better now?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Quality !! I m glad that this signing was not talked about until it actually happened !!! If we can get AWB it will be our best pre season ever put todibo and forfana into the mix then happy days COYI

  • Highland hammer says:

The question has not been answered is he a home grown player as an academy product at Leeds or classed as a foreign player

    • Martin Treasure says:

I think not, would have needed to spend 3 years plus at an academy to qualify. But I may be wrong

    • Lok says:

Don’t think so unfortunately. He’s been with Leeds since September ’21 and turns 23 on October 30th.

Homegrown foreign player requires a player to play for an English (or UK?) Club for 3 years before the age of 21.

That said, I’ve been wanting this lad at West Ham the last two years so I’m super excited and we will just need to figure the homegrown quota another way

  • Stringer says:

Like this signing – skillful, quick and direct. Having speed and skill on both flanks this season looks quite exciting.

  • John Ayris says:

Decent. We’re suddenly looking like we punch our weight.

  • Birchamhammer says:

Not felt this excited for a new season for a long time! Fantastic addition to our attack hopefully with Fullkrug as the fulcrum we are going to be excellent going forward. Still need AWB at RB to take over from Vlad and a second CB and we should be looking at competing with Villa, spuds and manure for the Europa league places at least!

  • mark wiggins says:

Great signing , look forward to seeing him, we really need AWB

  • elduder says:

with guido signing i can’t find room for summerville lol

  • Jay says:

Brilliant signing! At 22 years of age it shows that we are getting the right blend of youth and experience considering the impending signings of Rodriguez and Fullkrug. A blend that will hopefully drive us towards the European places this coming season.

  • Fisky says:

Lost for words, what a great signing.
We’re not just adding players we’re adding class?
I can’t wait to see him pair up with Kudus and Bowen, we’re going to terrorise teams….
    COYI’s ⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Very excited to see if he can do for us what Kudus does on the right, if Lopetegui can also get some defensive output from him because imho Emerson isn’t a great defender so will need some support.

Well done board and Steidten COYI !!!

  • Pete says:

Marvellous, this kid will drive our left side⚒️⚒️👍
