The large illuminated sign reading “West Ham United” with letters 3 metres high has arrived at the London Stadium today on lorries. The new sign will stretch over 47 metres in length as part of the WestHamification of the former Olympic Stadium. An artists impression of what the finished sign will look like can be seen below.
The ‘West Ham United’ sign which will be located above the 83 metre HD screen and flanked either side by two ‘The Sponsor’s Stadium’ signs. The signage will be fixed to the bottom of the compression truss using white continuous steel tubes. Stadium owners were previously refused a planning application for four West Ham United signs for the same size (one each on the north, east, south and west elevations).
The sign will only be illuminated for a maximum 55 days per year and beginning 3 hours before kick off and be switched off 2 hours after the final whistle within a maximum 7 hour window on any one match day. The HD screen will need to be switched off at midnight if an evening match takes place.
Hahaha nice post Sean hopefully not the last huge signing to arrive during the transfer window.
