Silkeborg fact file

West Ham travel to face Silkeborg in the Europa Conference League later this week.

Of course, the Irons didn’t play at the weekend and are well-rested ahead of their second group clash, having beaten Viborg last week.

Here’s all you need to know about Silkeborg!

Where are Silkeborg from?

They’re Danish, and play their matches at JYSK Park, their 10,000-seater stadium.

Are they any good?

Silkeborg are a fairly successful Danish club.

They won the Superliga in 1993/94, and finished as runners-up in 1997/98. In 21/22, they finished third.

Silkeborg also won the Danish Cup in 2001 and the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1996.

Who’s their biggest threat?

Niklas Helenius is a prolific striker who scored 18 goals in 30 games last season.

He’s a full Denmark international with two caps and has a total of 44 goals in 87 games for the club.

The 31-year-old is their biggest threat by a long way.

How are Silkeborg doing this season?

They’ve had a reasonable start to the campaign and are third in the league.

They have won five of their nine games, drawing one, and losing two.

Silkeborg also come into the game in decent form, after beating AGF 1-0 at the weekend, but they lost to Anderlecht last week in their opening Europa Conference League game.
