Silva time as we head for AFC Wimbledon

Xande Silva could easily get his chance to start in the weekend FA Cup clash against AFC Wimbledon.

The young striker was involved in the defeat of Birmingham and has been a member of the first team squad for several weeks but has made only one fleeting appearance against Burnley at Premier League level.

The under 23 hitman impressed on his London Stadium appearance and is being freely tipped behind the scenes to play a part this weekend.

It would be a big ask for him to become the main man and we will need to wait and see whether Marko Arnautovic will be involved this weekend as he was when the youngster played so well against the Blues.

Adrian is expected to be back in goal and it will be interesting to see if Ryan Fredericks – now recovered from his injury problems – takes over at right back from Zaba and Masuaku looks nailed on to step in for Cressie.

CandH’s team: Adrian; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Rice, Obiang, Nasri, Diangana, Silva, Antonio.

  1. Hope he does, he needs game time. You never know, the new Arnie could be under our very eyes?

  2. Ooh, I do like a prediction… Pelle is the only person who knows whether or not Arnie is fit to play a part – it’s a mystery for us – but I suspect he won’t. I agree with your team, except I think he’ll start with Hernandez up top with Silva instead of Antonio. I suspect we’ll see Snoddy on for Diangana on 70 mins, and Carroll for Silva at the same time.

  3. He looks more like a second striker from what we have seen so far, like a new Tony Cottee all we need now is a McAvennie figure the Polish kid from Genoa looked to have a bit of that about him but seems he is destined for AC Milan.
