Former Hammer turned BBC pundit Trevor Sinclair is hoping for a top eight finish for West Ham under Slaven Bilic this season.
Speaking late last night on twitter Sinclair said ‘Hoping for a top 8 finish to be honest. Think that’s what is expected if we are to move forward again’
Sinclair moved to West Ham in 1998 for a combined fee of £2.7 million; £2.3 million plus West Ham players Iain Dowie and Keith Rowland moving to Q.P.R as part of the deal. He scored seven goals in the remaining 14 games to help West Ham achieve an eighth-place finish in the Premier League that season. He was a regular over the next two seasons, but a serious knee injury ruled him out of the final four months.
In 2003 following relegation West Ham were forced to accept a £3.3m bid for the player from Manchester City.
Yeah i like Sinclair on the box.Not just because he is an ex-Iron but because he is one of the few that actually talks a fair amount of sense 😉
He was spot on last year about the club and where we finished,
Let’s hope he gets it right 2 years running
He bring back great memories when he played and just the sort of player we need to replace Downing,
One of our very best ever value for money signings was tricky Trev.
Some of the goals he scored were real worldies too, I remember him smashing in a volley from one of our corner kicks, Carrick chips to edge of box, Joe Cole, two touch keepy up pass to Sinclair on the opposite side of the box, volleyed into the onion bag!
He is very pro West Ham and a decent pundit too.
