SIX Hammers up for London awards

Six West Ham figures have been nominated for honours at the 2022 London Football Awards.

The club have revealed that a number of representatives from the Irons could win gongs at the annual prizegiving in the capital.

Three West Ham players, two players from the women’s team and David Moyes have been nominated for awards!

Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen are both in contention to win the Premier League Player of the Year award, along with Chelsea trio Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, and Jorginho.

Moyes is up for Manager of the Year, as are Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel, Marco Silva of Fulham, Patrick Vieira of Crystal Palace and Matt Gray of Sutton United.

Lukasz Fabianski has been nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year, having won the award in 2021, and will be up against Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, Spurs’ Hugo Lloris, Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy and Sutton’s Dean Bouzanis.

Women’s goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold is up for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Year, while Mel Ellis is up for the Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

The prizes will be given out on March 3, 2022.
