After years of being linked with the same player, the Hammers appear ready to shift their focus despite a continually decreasing transfer fee.

West Ham are finally set to end their pursuit of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri and instead prioritise a move for Atletico Madrid youngster Samu Omorodion, according to Spanish media.

Sevilla, eager to balance their books by the end of the month, have placed En-Nesyri on the transfer list. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, drawing interest from West Ham, Aston Villa, and Spurs.

Although West Ham were seen as strong contenders for his signature this summer, manager Julen Lopetegui is not particularly keen on reuniting with the Moroccan striker. Lopetegui and En-Nesyri previously worked together at Sevilla, a partnership that led to a Europa League title. However, the Spanish manager has different plans for bolstering his squad this summer.

West Ham are expected to sign at least six players to shape the team although that could reduce if Ben Johnson signs a new deal.

Omorodion has apparently caught the Lopetegui’s eye which is bad news for En-Nesyri and Sevilla. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Alaves, contributing nine goals in 35 league games to help the Spanish side achieve a mid-table finish.

Therefore, despite Sevilla’s desperation to flog their star man to West Ham, it appears t be a case of thanks but no thanks.

There is no evidence whatsoever in the Spanish press that Sevilla is targeting West Ham for a sale. If anything, Tottenham is mentioned a few times as an option. Given all the crazy money that is paid for mediocre players out there, this player would be a bargain. Let’s hope he does not end up in another Premier team scoring goals against West Ham……

We need someone to lead the line , this guys record does not sound great. However if JL thinks he can improve. And has that potential it might be money well spent and end up being a bargain . We need to keep Bowen , Kudas to ensure we have a clinical front line & hopefully Paqueta will be found innocent !
